Hi, my name is Mar­cin and I am curr­ent­ly do­ing my Master’s de­gree (M.Sc.) part-time at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Bam­berg. Short­ly af­ter start­ing my care­er as a per­ma­nent em­ployee at TecAlliance, I have de­ci­ded to ex­pand my ac­ti­vi­ties to not only gain prac­ti­cal ex­pe­ri­ence on the job, but also to gain more theo­re­ti­cal know­ledge by en­rol­ling in the In­for­ma­ti­on Sys­tems pro­gram. This al­lo­wed me to con­ti­nue this com­bi­ned ap­proach right af­ter my Bachelor’s de­gree (B.Eng.) in co­ope­ra­ti­on with TecAlliance. 

Busi­ness In­for­ma­tics fo­cu­ses on the de­ve­lo­p­ment and ap­pli­ca­ti­on of theo­ries, con­cepts, mo­dels, me­thods and tools for the ana­ly­sis and de­sign of in­for­ma­ti­on sys­tems. It is very in­ter­di­sci­pli­na­ry and com­bi­nes dif­fe­rent re­se­arch are­as in one. Due to the high fle­xi­bi­li­ty of­fe­red by the sub­ject, the fo­cus of each de­gree pro­gram or even for each stu­dent can be de­ter­mi­ned in­di­vi­du­al­ly. My per­so­nal one is on data and management. 

Some ex­amp­les of to­pics I have dealt with du­ring my stu­dies are Data Sci­ence, Ma­chi­ne Lear­ning, Data Mi­ning and Data Ma­nage­ment. This matches per­fect­ly with my cur­rent job as a Data En­gi­neer at TecAlliance and al­lows me to di­rect­ly ap­p­ly what I have lear­ned at the uni­ver­si­ty. An­o­ther ad­van­ta­ge is TecAlliance’s open­ness to dif­fe­rent pro­jects, which al­lows me to go even fur­ther and com­bi­ne sci­en­ti­fic re­se­arch with the ap­pli­ca­ti­on of the re­sults in the com­pa­ny. Sin­ce I am al­re­a­dy at the end of my stu­dies, I am loo­king for­ward to the last step, the mas­ter the­sis, and next challenges!
