From January 13th to 16th, I had the opportunity to travel to Spain together with Kerstin Langohr.
In Madrid and Barcelona, the education fairs of the German Schools took place, where we represented TecAlliance and the Baden‑Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) together with Susanne Hermann from DHBW Stuttgart.
We flew from Frankfurt to Madrid on January 13th. The next day, the fair at the German School Madrid was already on the agenda. I really enjoyed talking to the students, informing them about the DHBW, and answering their questions. I was especially impressed by their great interest and their strong German skills.
In our free time, we explored Madrid a bit and even visited the Museo del Prado. The city truly amazed me – the atmosphere, the people, the buildings, and the parks.
On January 15th, we took the train to Barcelona, which only took 2.5 hours. We were greeted by wonderful spring weather, which we used to see as much as possible in a short time: great viewpoints, beautiful architecture, and even the harbor.

The next day, the fair at the German School Barcelona took place. The atmosphere there was also very pleasant; the students were open, curious, and engaged. It was a lot of fun introducing them to the dual study system. I also learned quite a bit myself – for example, how many degree programs the DHBW now offers and what opportunities international students have.
One of the highlights for me was definitely being able to give a presentation together with Susanne Hermann on both fair days. Since I was only in the position of choosing my own study path a year ago, it was a great feeling to share my own experiences directly.
We returned to Germany on Friday evening, and I look back on four days full of new impressions, great conversations, and wonderful experiences.
I’m truly grateful for this opportunity – both to discover Madrid and Barcelona and to expand my knowledge and gain new experiences.
