My experience in 2020 so far – there’s much to learn

The first third of the year 2020 is now almost over, the world has experienced some events and is still involved in many of them. Even in my small world of dual studies, many things have happened.

After I returned to the company from my Christmas vacation and was briefly employed in the Trade division, I went back to the DHBW. But before I was able to throw myself into the fourth theory semester with my fellow students, I went through the one-week course to become a trainer. The TecAlliance pointed out the possibility to participate in the program “Training for Trainers”, even motivated and supported us. After a theoretical and practical examination, I can demonstrate the vocational and work-pedagogical knowledge that is necessary to train myself later on.

One section, for example, dealt with the different types of learners and the different ways in which people internalize and keep information for themselves in order to generate knowledge.

Already my first project work I dealt with the topic knowledge management. Among other things, I learned that knowledge is created through information that is enriched with experience. The staircase of knowlede or knowledge pyramid show this structure quite well. But an important aspect of knowledge management is also the distribution of knowledge. Knowledge is not lost for the sender when it is passed on – on the contrary, synergy effects are created. In this way, it is possible to work well together and progress is achieved more quickly.

After the somewhat shortened theory phase – due to the current pandemic, the examination phase was postponed to August – my and my colleagues started the practical phase again earlier. Here I am working on my second project work and the subject of machine learning. Obviously it appears that learning is very important for all of us, not only for people

That is just something that the TecAlliance is also something that makes it special for me: You are supported in your further training and can draw on the experience of colleagues when you are working in new areas. I am already excited to see how the work on my current project work will turn out and I am looking forward to it and to passing it on to others again.
