On October 1, 2025, I began my first theory phase at DHBW Lörrach. I moved to Lörrach, about four hours away from home, to study. The first day began with an official semester introduction by our program director. After that, we got straight into financial accounting and presentation and communication skills. In particular, we practiced how to give presentations correctly and got to know each other better as a class for the first time through various exercises.
In the weeks that followed, I had a packed lecture schedule. Among other things, we had: business administration and economics, law, human resources basics, mathematics, communication and presentation skills, etc.
The business administration lectures with over 100 people were particularly impressive—almost like being at a real university.
But I also had an incredible amount of fun alongside my studies. The StuV Lörrach student union organized great events, such as pub crawls, beer pong tournaments, karaoke nights, and bingo nights.
We also traveled a lot outside of DHBW, for example to Basel, Freiburg, and the beautiful Christmas market in Strasbourg.
What I appreciate most are the people I had the opportunity to meet in Lörrach. From day one, the atmosphere was open, warm, and supportive. We did a lot together and quickly bonded as a group.
I also really enjoyed the theoretical part of the course. Many lecturers shared practical experiences from their own professional lives, which helped us to understand the content in a much more practical way. I particularly liked this combination of theory and real-life insights.
December was really intense because it was exam season. I had lots of exams and partial exams, so I was constantly studying.
On December 19, I headed back home, where my three-month internship at TecAlliance began.
But I am already looking forward to my next theory phase in Lörrach and to seeing my fellow students again.
