From 11.06 to 15.06, this year’s CEBIT took place in Hanover, which is known as one of the world’s largest trade fairs in the field of information technology. Since, as last year, there was already great interest, I visited the fair in Hanover on the last day of the exhibition together with a group of permanent employees, apprentices and students. In the 27 halls of the exhibition centre, companies such as Microsoft, SAP, IBM, Deutsche Bahn, the Bundeswehr and many others showed us how they digitise their daily tasks. This year I found the presented innovations in the Virtual Reality and Internet-of-Things (IoT) area particularly interesting.
Here you could also try out a lot for yourself, for example a VR driving school simulator with gear shift, a VR drones simulation and a model of a parking lot, which shows exactly the available places thanks to sensors. After the informative but also exhausting day, on which we had run over 2800 exhibition stands, we ended the day with a common dinner in a fast food restaurant.
