On September 23, as part of our Trainee Vision/Mission program, we had the opportunity to meet Marina Ribke, Chief Data & Technology Officer (CDTO) at TecAlliance, in person.
We began with a round of introductions. First, it was our turn—the trainees and dual students. We introduced ourselves, explained what areas we’re currently working in, and shared our plans for the future. We also had the chance to talk about the direction we’d like to take at TecAlliance and the career goals we’ve set for ourselves.
Marina then introduced herself and gave us a detailed account of her
professional career to date. This gave us deep insight into her various
career stages, experiences, and decisions she’s made along the way to
her current position as CDTO at TecAlliance. It was particularly interesting
to see that a career path isn’t always linear and that many new opportunities can arise over time. In addition to discussing her professional career, Marina also gave us many personal tips for our own career paths. She didn’t just talk about careers and professional development, but also addressed the topic of health. She spoke about how important it is to take care of yourself and find a good balance between work and personal life. She also gave us tips on how to manage stress and prevent burnout.
It became clear that it’s important to know your own limits,
take breaks when needed, and avoid constantly overworking yourself.
Afterward, we had the opportunity to ask Marina questions. We were able to talk openly about various topics and ask questions about her career path, her
current position, the working world, and her personal experiences. This
led to an interesting exchange from which we gained many new insights and tips for our own futures.
After the discussion, we had pizza for lunch. During our
lunch break together, we were able to chat a bit more.
Unfortunately, Marina had to leave for her next meeting right after that, so our
get-together came to an end.
Overall, the Trainee Vision/Mission session with Marina was a very interesting event. We not only learned more about her professional career and her experiences, but also received valuable tips for our own professional futures and for managing stress and maintaining good health.
