Traineeworkshops are held on a weekly basis throughout the year. Through lectures and small tasks, trainees can experience what the different tasks of an IT specialist are like. Last week was the first internship workshop of this year in Weikersheim.
On Monday, the two participants were first guided through the building. Afterwards they got a short introduction to programming with C#. At the following lunch they were introduced to the other apprentices. In the afternoon there was a small introduction to operating systems and hardware. According to precise specifications, for example, they had the task of compiling an executable computer on the Internet.
The other days of the week were similar. The two participants were introduced alternately by different apprentices to programming and system integration. The trainees have prepared presentations for this purpose.
On Friday they were asked to program a small calculator with Windows Forms. For this program they had to apply the programming skills they had learned during the week. At the end of the day, as a reward for both of them, there was a small present of a fair bag.
The internship workshop was a complete success despite only two participants. The two worked on the tasks with a lot of interest, willingness to learn and fun. The fact that there were only two of them had some advantages. They were well looked after and quickly received help in case of problems. It was also possible that the two of them were able to come to the learning office for a whole day, as we had exactly two places available there. The workshop was also a success for the trainees, as we were able to try out new possibilities of the presentations and to correct any mistakes that occurred afterwards, in order to offer the next trainees an even better workshop.
