Social commitment is still lacking in the area of vocational training. That’s why Kerstin, head of training, thought about how we could integrate this important point during the hackathon. In the beginning it wasn’t that easy to find something suitable here that can be implemented quickly, doesn’t cost a lot and can be implemented this year. But as chance would have it, one of our students, Sebastian Ley, is already involved in an action – help for sick children. There was the idea! Now Kerstin has informed herself about it and already the project could be presented in the apprentice meeting.
20 of our trainees want to be part of this great project! But what will we do? How can we support them here? These were the first questions the trainees asked immediately.
“We will help to bake yeast angels for a good cause” was Kerstin’s answer. However, this is not possible in a conventional oven. The initiator of the project Sabine Ley (mother of Sebastian Ley) took the company Backofen-Manz in Creglingen-Münster on board. In their premises we can all use the large baking ovens.
The yeast angels are sold with a CD by the Harald Bleibl Choir from Schrozberg for a good cause and the proceeds go directly to the children’s clinic in Tübingen.
