Hello, my name is Jana and I am studying industrial engineering in the fourth semester. Currently, I am in my practical phase, which means I am working in the company and writing my second project work. In the course of my project, I was for 3 weeks at our location in Maastricht. Here I got an insight into the workflows that we carry out during our data acquisition. The aim of my visit was to analyse the work processes and to collect requirements for a new tool. I really received a lot of information which I will now process in the next step.

The colleagues in Maastricht were (and still are) very friendly to me and supported me wherever possible. We talked in our company language English, so that was no problem for anyone. Most of the time I was allowed to look over the shoulder of my colleagues. They gladly took the time to explain everything to me in detail. In my third week I had to organize and run a workshop with the seniors and group managers of Maastricht Data Collection. In the evening some of them went out to eat with me in a restaurant in Belgium.

When I wasn’t in the company, I had the opportunity to have a closer look at the beautiful city of Maastricht. I rented an apartment right in the centre of Maastricht, so I could explore the city and play it a tourist every evening. In order to prepare myself for the company run that takes place on 07/10/19 in Igersheim, I also used my free time to go jogging a little, a nearby park was perfect for that.

I am glad that the TecAlliance made this possible for me and also put so much trust in me to send me there alone. I could really gain some experience there again and train my English.
