Data Engineer
Hello everyone,
my name is Yannik Henke and I have been working at TecAlliance since I started my career in 2017.
It all began with a dual study program in business informatics specializing in software engineering in Lörrach. The degree is split into approximately 70% IT and 30% business studies. I was therefore able to gain valuable knowledge for my career in both areas. I then started working as a data analyst in the central analytics department at TecAlliance.
Besides working I continued my education as part of the dual Master´s program in computer science at the DHBW-Center for Advanced Studies. The dual Master´s program was challenging due to the combination of work and lectures, but offered me the opportunity to deepen my knowledgein theory and practice and to become a real expert in my field. I was particularly interested in my Master´s thesis in the field of Natural Language Processing as I was able to work with cutting-edge transformer models (better known as ChatGPT) to generate real added value for TecAlliance.
After some internal restructuring, I am now working at TecAlliance as a Data Engineer in the analytics team of our TecCom division. I played a key role in setting up this team and our products, and we are now able to provide our customers with highly relevant analyses based on the market´s largest ordering platform. In addition to the regular exchange woth our customers, I particularly enjoy working with the latest technologies to bring large amounts of data to the customer at lightning speed using a sophisticated architecture.
In addition to my job at TecAlliance, I also work as a lecturer at the DHBW. Here I am able to introduce young interested students from the fields of industrial engineering and digital business management to the fascinating world of computer science. Even though the design, assessment and preparation of the lectures are challenging alongside my normal job, I really enjoy the exchange of knowledge with the students.
