On 05.07.2019 I had the opportunity to visit the Europa-Park in Rust as part of the DHBW Circle of Excellence Program. Since my current practical phase, which I spend in Weikersheim, is very far away from the Europa-Park, I arrived the day before and spent the night in a guesthouse near Rust. I found it very interesting in the city of Rust that the whole city seems to live only through Europa-Park. So you can find several guesthouses in every street.

After a restful night, I got up quite early the next morning in order not to miss the breakfast buffet that was ready at 7:30 a.m.. The breakfast was very diversified and delicious. After the following check-out I drove to the Europa-Park parking lot and went to the information desk at the main entrance. Here I met my Circle of Excellence students. After we were all equipped with DHBW Bands and tickets by the responsible persons of DHBW Lörrach, we entered the Europa Park at 9 o’clock.

The program in the park started with one hour of free time. Here we visited attractions like the Eurosat to slowly get used to roller coaster riding again. At 10:00 we then met in the conference room above the restaurant Mille Fleurs. A one and a half hour long presentation of the Europa Park from the company’s point of view followed. In this part I found it most interesting how exactly Europa Park knows its customers using statistics. In the following round of questions also unpleasant questions were answered. So I found it doubtful to fire the majority of the park employees every year for the winter season.

The company presentation was followed by a “park tour”, which actually turned out to be a VIP roller coaster ride. We didn’t have to wait at any roller coaster and were able to enjoy all the main attractions of Europa Park in no time at all.

After this “park tour” we were invited by the DHBW to a pizza 😊. After this common ending the event was over and everybody could spend the rest of the day in the park.
