Apprenticeship Night

On the 30th of September, Kerstin, Lars and me took part in the Apprenticeship Night. Due to Corona, the event was held online via Zoom. Our virtual room was open from 17:00 to 20:00. During this time, we were ready to answer questions from all prospective students and trainees.

Due to previous experience with similar online events, we did not have great expectations, but rather the hope that someone would drop by. Personally, I was very surprised when a pupil entered our Zoom room shortly after 17:00. She was interested in the dual study program “Digital Business Management”.  Lars and me answered her questions giving a short presentation with insight into the TecAlliance world. Additionally, I told from my own experience how the dual study program works, what someone needs for it and what I particularly like about it.

After that, there was a longer break until another prospective student came in. He was interested in the “Applied Computer Science” degree program and seemed to be totally enthusiastic about the IT world. He liked our idea of the trainee team and thought it was cool that we have a trainee outing and occasionally do something together in our free time. He was already ready to send us his application that day.

In summary, the 3 hours were not waisted. In presence, we would certainly have had more visitors and the Apprenticeship Night would have been more productive. Nevertheless, it is good that we have the opportunity in the Corona pandemic to draw attention to the TecAlliance with its various courses of study and training in order to attract new trainees.
