Last week some trainees from weikersheim office met for karting after work. Unfortunately only six of us went racing, because a few trainees had to cancel at short notice. However, it was a very fun evening and we all had a lot of fun.

After a few initial orientation difficulties we had finally reached the kart track by 6 pm. Some Trainees which visit the kart track regularly were quite shocked when they learned that it had been rebuilt a few months ago. Then it went off into the karts and the fun could begin. After everyone had got used to the route and the karting, the lap times were getting better and the karts also went faster and faster. Altogether, the majority managed to make 27 laps within twenty minutes. All of our guys were in a head-to-head race, which could only be decided by the number of rounds. Our trainee Paul won this race. Honestly we believe that a secret racing driver is slumbering in him and he seemed to have practice in it just as he has overtaken the others and his lap times have improved from round to round.

Following the race most of us were pretty wet because karting is quite exhausting. In the end, we had the opportunity to talk with the owner of the track, mostly about latest cars and all their technical quirks. For both he and our guys are more impressed with older cars which oneself can tinker and fix, as they said it, rather than having to go directly into the workshop because the lamp or the indicator does not go out. Also all agreed on these technical features being nice but not really needed. And so a rather funny and relaxed evening ended. We are looking forward to the next event as we always have a lot of fun as a team and there is always something to laugh about. Even our students currently at university join us in our activities as long as their lectures and leisure time allow it.
